Moto-Scooters LTD  was started in 1959 by the late Francis Cassar who passed away in Feb 2012.Later in the 60's CBS was formed when he,Dr Keith Badgett  (his then GP and a good friend), and Dennis Saxby (his co-mechanic who had worked with tank transporters during the war) agreed a partnership – you will spot the initials CBS . His early business included working on Arial square engines, Triumphs and so on, familiar to him from his days in Malta which had plenty of British bikes, but the Douglas-Vespa franchise followed.  He sold the business to Peter Hasler and moved on in 1974 , and he later became the High Commissioner for Malta in London, a real change of direction, but he was always a politico, and it was in his blood as a Maltese man.

The company was taken over in 1974 by the Hasler family who promptly got rid of the Cars to specialise in their first love - Motorcycles and Scooters. In 1978 the company took on the Yamaha Agency and in 1982 the Kawasaki Agency.

Both Dot and Peter were well known in the scooter world through their associations with the Thames Valley Vespa Club and the Vespa Club of Great Britain . They were very successful in their scooter sport winning over 200 trophies between them. Dot won the title "Queen of the Isle of Man " on two occasions riding Piaggio machines.

Neville and Tina both competed in Schoolboy Motorcross riding Kawasaki MX machines. They started at the age of 6 and were both very successful and collected almost as many trophies as their parents. All our staff are Motorcycle or scooter enthusiasts
